华人的传统观念里，农历新年是一家人团聚的日子。《过好年》要以轻松的手法告诉观众，不论生活多困难、无论彼此有什么心结，只要一家人能够平安健康地生活在一起，就是最大的幸福和快乐。农历新年还没到，杨小冬（瑞恩饰）却已经开始采购年货，准备卖年货了。杨小冬和爷爷董建业（陈澍城饰）在牛车水开了一间小店铺，售卖林林总总的杂货，周遭还有卖肉干、鞋子、CD、胸罩等等店铺，大家关系融洽，尤其是隔壁卖胸罩和女性衣物的陈豪杰（陈泓宇饰），更是小冬心仪的对象。其实陈豪杰是个大学生，因为金融风暴的波及，被公司裁退，失业一整年，只好到叔叔陈良才（陈建彬饰）的店铺暂时帮忙。。Through this film our aim is to promote the fascinating personality of Nikos Kazantzakis, as well as the enchanting scenery of Greece that molded him into the man he became.
